Rotam has appointed Nigel Last as its new UK Commercial & Marketing Manager.
Nigel has a wealth of experience in agriculture and arable inputs in particular, working for the likes of The AF Group and ProCam in recent years.
He replaces Chris Pye who has moved to join the Rotam USA team.
After earning a post-graduate diploma in crop protection from Harper Adams, Nigel began his career at Willmots (a predecessor of UAP, now part of Agrii) and moved through various commercial and purchasing roles during a 20-year spell at the company.
He was appointed as AF’s Arable Inputs General Manager in 2008, overseeing the sales of agrochemicals, seed, and fertiliser, before leaving six years later to join ProCam's head office commercial team.
“I worked closely with Rotam during my time at AF and was involved with the launch of its tebuconazole fungicide TOLEDO and range of SU herbicides. I always very impressed with the quality of the products,” said Nigel.
Nigel will work alongside Marketing and Product Development Manager Dilwyn Harris at the forefront of Rotam's UK team.
“I look forward to working alongside Dil to further promote and develop the Rotam range by building on the great relationships we have with distributors, agronomists and farmers,” Nigel added.
Rotam Regional Head of Europe, Maghreb and the Middle East, Paul Savage, said: “Chris Pye did a very good pioneering role for Rotam and provided a firm foundation for the business in the UK. Having built the confidence and trust in the quality of our products, and our customer service and technical support, we are now in a position to move on to the next stage of our business development.
“Having Nigel’s wide range of knowledge and experience within the business will be vital to our progress in the UK. With him and Dilwyn in the field and a larger, more diverse range of products as well as an exciting product portfolio in development, the business is well set to build on its success."
